Outdoor kitties face many dangers… predators, cars, making kittens (yes, that’s a danger), and terminal diseases like FeLV and FIV, just to name a few.
In September, we met a handsome black male kitty who clearly had once been part of a family, based on how socialized and friendly he was. However, he was apparently left to roam outside and fend for himself for the last 4 years. This kitty, now known as Zingle, appears to have lived a rough life, as evidenced by his many battle scars.
Because Zingle was outside and not neutered, he had to take matters into his own paws and fight for territory, food, and female kitties. Well, that led to his contracting FIV. He was found in the same part of Fountain Hills that Oro was, who is also FIV+, so it isn’t surprising that Zingle met this same fate.
We’re pretty sure that Zingle has been passing the time making kittens. Why wouldn’t he? That’s what his instinct tells him to do. While we’re sure he made stunning kittens, that’s what we’re trying to prevent: more homeless kitties who must fend for themselves and face the same dangers that Zingle did.
Zingle is now safe and recovering from dental surgery (yep, another consequence of being outside) and will soon be ready for adoption.
Zingle is going to live a long, happy life, but it sure could have been better and less stressful for him in these last few years. We know that his next family will cherish him and give him all the comforts he deserves. Might his forever home be with you?
